Monday, January 24

A completely normal Monday route today.  Sunny and warm.  I didn't even need my coat. No Amari. I guess he's sick.  We're back to dropping Linlee off at her house on Mondays so we have a lot of extra time on Mondays again. I used some of that time AND the bus to get the hover board to the post office to return it.  MaKayla has the expedition today and it's a little bigger than I wanted to carry for 3 blocks. There's not really a place to park a bus,  even a small one,  on that block of Broadway and there was an officer parked in the Gambinos parking lot where I'd thought to park so I went around the block and found a place to put the bus on Monroe near the JACAM building.

My return took a little longer than expected because the post office didn't know if they could accept my package since it contained a lithium ion battery.  I ended up leaning my number and the package whole they do a little research.

We still had plenty of time to stop in at the district office. Just a small chat day,  nothing of real importance; but I accidentally turned in my new paperwork for this week instead of my competed paperwork for last week.  I'll swap it out tomorrow at the bus meeting.

Evelyn and her grandma were back out at the road side today.  That Evelyn's got an ornery streak and is always trying to get on the bus without her backpack. Today I saw her running back toward the house and I thought she was giving her grandma a hard time, but they were actually just playing tag.

Jim sent me a message this afternoon asking if there were any QUIZ Bowl or Music trips I wanted to drive this month. As much as I'd really like to go watch Isaac and his classmates in their quiz bowls, I can't really take any trips as long as the older girls are still in basketball season. I need someone to be home with the younger girls.

I did take the opportunity to thank Jim for being so good to work around my schedule this year. I know there are routes he sometimes drives so I don't have to. He responded that he's glad it's helping. :) And he really likes driving occasionally. It's something more fun than his normal stuff.

Here's my response. It's a good snap shot of my kids this year. "I bet! You need to take PreK sometime. Stella Schneider sings us crazy songs we've never heard before. Amarie likes to open the door when he gets off, Linlee shares her crackers with me. Ollie's been sporting a beanie, sun glasses and a mask like he's going to make a break for it and doesn't want anyone to know it's him. Louis and Newton like to give me high elbows as they get off the bus at the grade school . PreK is where it's at!
